Drivers using the Accra-Kasoa main road need to drive carefully as the road has been flooded after the heavy downpour. Video circulating on social media now shows that both sides of the double-laned road have been flooded after the heavy rainfall.
Watching the screenshots from the video in this article, you can see that the level of the water is very high so it will be difficult for drivers to use the road without getting some parts of their vehicle damaged.
According to Ghanaians who have been using this road often, there is no gutter on any side of the road. As a result of this, all water from residents' houses, and gutters among others land on the main road when it rains heavily. Some Ghanaians after coming across this video blamed the Ministry of Road and Highway for this.
They stated that the government knows that roads in communities without gutters get spoiled early, yet this road has not been provided with gutters since its construction by President John Agyekum Kufuor. The government should start constructing gutters to prevent heavy traffic and prevent the deterioration of the road.
